What is the soundtrack of your life?

Chris Loxley

Chris Loxley Senior Director of Stragtegic Sales

What is your educational background?
Hailing from Ithaca College in upstate New York and then later from CU Boulder out West, I have always felt a strong connection to music, math, and technology, and more interestingly, how they intertwine.

Degrees in music were always heavily supported by math curriculum, and early learning and understanding of music recording technology and software/hardware kept heavy ties between the 3 worlds. You can still find me today in my off time at the studio, engineering recording sessions, and enjoying intricacies of mic placement and its effect on the physics of sound.

What is your professional motto?
Be true to yourself. Do what you say you are going to do.

I am not sure if this is 2 mottos, but to me they are one and the same. Accountability and responsibility permeate our MerchLogix software, so it is fitting that I find this to be the single most important trait in people I work with, hire or manage, or even hold personal friendships with. Set a realistic expectation, then follow through to meet or exceed said expectation. Period. If you do this, you will have success in everything you do, personally and professionally.

Why do you do what you do?
To help people. If I don’t wake up every day believing that whatever I do that day is going to help others achieve professional and personal goals, I’m not getting out of bed.

Whether it is my work with Nead Werx and MerchLogix, or my charity/volunteer work, or the students I teach music to on my nights and weekends, I believe every minute of every day that I am helping others.

What is your favorite invention of all time?
The microphone.

Life would be a lot simpler if…
We all loved each other. Like REALLY loved.

If you were an animal, which animal would you be?
A cobra.

Describe your hidden talent.
Cooking. I love to cook in my spare time. Through the years of experience of friends who are executive chefs helping me along the way, and lots of dinner parties, I am perfecting my craft. I actually have plans to one day start a food blog – that might have to wait a short while considering all of my other hobbies and interests.

My affinity for lists.

Brent Abernathy Senior Director of Engineering

What is your educational background?
Art Institute of Atlanta – Audio Engineering.

What is your professional motto?
Scientists say the universe is made up of protons, neutrons and electrons. They forgot to mention morons.

Why do you do what you do?
